The story:-
| Based on the popular TV series, the stage version follows the exploits of René Artois, the café owner with an eye for the ladies, except his wife. As he and Edith, his wife, struggle to keep the café going, and at the same time keep for themselves the priceless portrait of the Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies, while also keeping forgeries hidden in knockwurst sausages for tehe Germans who, of course, believe it is the real portrait, things get more and more complicated. |

To add to his troubles, René is also a very reluctant member of the resistance, and is hiding two British airmaen, until they are repatriated. However, communication with London, via a wireless disguised as a large cockatoo is, to say the least, difficult. |
| Matters come to a head when it is learned that Hitler is to visit the village of Nouvien and suddenly the café is inundated with impersonators all trying to prevent General von Schmelling giving Hitler the real painting. But with typical French je ne sias quoi and a lot of hilarity, all is revealed. | ![]() |
